The “Ticking Bomb” metaphor was used to justify torture in certain extreme situations. It is a phrase that depicts a shortage of time and big threat ahead. There was a real-life Israeli case in 2014 where the “Ticking Bomb” scenario was utilized. During the early stages of the disappearance of three Israelis in the West Bank on June 12, 2014, there has been no evidence of whether the abduction was made by an Arab or Palestinian party yet. Still Israel excluded any criminal element and launched a military campaign that included the arrest of 300 Palestinians.
